Hello everyone. As you might have arleady known, India has been knocked out on this year's world cup. Pakistan and England have made it to the finals. So, today I am going to be discussing my honest reviews and opinions on why India ended up in a situation like this in the first place and shat we could have done to avoid getting humiliated in a semifinal match.
First off I would like to tell that it is not easy to get out there and play in a semifinal match against England in front of 10000s of people. Everyone expects you to win but some days are just not yours and I am proud of this team to have come this far in this tournament. Obviously everyone is sad and so am I, but we have got to face it and bounce back next year.
Okay,
First we all need to ask ourselves this question.
Did India even deserve to be in the semis?
Match one we won a close match against Pakistan in the last ball of the innings and we even got a bit lucky with the wide and dead ball...
match 2 we won against Netherlands quite comfortably and that is one of the two good wins we got, the other one coming against Zimbabwe.
match 3 was a tough one because we lost against South Africa where the batting looked off and we had no answers to Ngidi's bowling. If it weren't for SKY, I don't think we would have even crossed 120.
Match 4 against Bangladesh and even though we won, it wasn't convincing and I though that after the powerplay, we might have as well just lost the match. Kudos to KL Rahul on that brilliant throw which had Liton Das.
Match 5 against Zimbabwe was a nice and convincing win for us and I don't really have anything to say here other than SKY. WHAT AN INNINGS. It was one of those innings where you just could watch every shot of his on replay. And after that came
Match 6:Semis
Huh.....
It was hard to take that
Honestly no one saw that coming.
A 10 wicket loss in a semifinal is just hard to swallow
First let's talk about the batting.
Openers.
You take all the other teams’ openers
They at least try to score runs
But our openers tried their best, but it just wasn't convincing.
Kohli walks on the second over of the innings. He doesn't bat in number 3, he is practically an opener.
The bowling however has been pretty good through out the tournament, especially Arshdeep. Credits have to be given to him for bowling so well in the powerplay that too in your first world cup.
However the changes I would make to this squad are-
Chahal in for Axar Patel
And maybe giving KL Rahul some rest and trying out a new opener.
So that's it for today's blog. Stay tuned for more
