So, the latest bit of news from Australia was Anrich Nortje getting hit by a spider cam from behind. It looked really bad and I think when you do not anticipate an object to hit you from behind, it will shock you and will obviously hurt. today I will be writing about something which has been debated by many fans around the world- Do we really need technology?
We will be taking a lot of examples for this. One instance was when Ambati Rayudu took a catch in the IPL 2021 final and the wicket was ruled out because it hit the spider camera.

Another one was in recent India vs Pakistan clash, where Shan Masood skied the ball, and it could have been easily caught but it hit the spider cam and the ball was ruled a dead ball. We have had many situations where the ball has hit the spider cam which has cost the fielding side. So, let's answer the question ow, should the spider camera be removed? not really. It gives us many good views of the game and is crucial for the drone view. The solution to this problem is we can reduce the speed of the spider cam so that it can prevent incidents like the Nortje one, and set up a drone instead of a spider camera so that the wire won't cause a problem. However, the spider camera is a really good asset for the broadcasters to provide better views of the spectacle and events in or around the ground. Another solution is to keep the spider cam away from the wicket and the string around the boundaries of the stadium in order to stay away from the ground.
